Explore Shanghai

Be enchanted by the diverse architectural styles on display, ranging from European elegance to Asian elements. Casting your gaze across the Huangpu River, the towering skyscrapers of Pudong will reveal the modern face of Shanghai as a thriving global metropolis.

Day 3
Shanghai – Suzhou
  1. In the morning, at the renowned Shanghai Museum, let the museum’s treasures guide you through the stories of the city’s past. Explore its vast collection of art and historical artifacts, ranging from ancient ceramics and calligraphy to elaborate jade carvings and traditional costumes.
  2. After lunch you will drive to Suzhou, a city renowned for its gardens, unique architecture and elaborate designs.
  3. On arrival, enjoy the cruise tour along the Grand Canal. Being 1,800 kilometers long, the Grand Canal is the world’s longest man-made waterway. Suzhou is referred to as the “Venice of the East”.
  4. The Grand Canal crosses the Suzhou city, linked with all Suzhou small rivers. During the boat cruise, you will see the old town of Suzhou with water under petite bridges, pavilions, terraces and open halls. The canal boasts picturesque scenery with ancient towns and buildings with white walls and black tiles.
  5. After the cruise tour, stroll around Shantang Street, a famous “Chinese historical and cultural district”. Enjoy traditional snacks, dim-sum, creative shops, and a local wet market. It’s an ideal place for dining and shopping.

Suzhou – Luoyang (High-Speed Train)
  1. Today you will enjoy a leisure morning. After 4-day sightseeing full of all different activities, you may wish to have some free time to rest, do some laundry or just explore the city at your own pace.
  2. In the afternoon you will be met and transferred to the railway station for the high-speed train to Luoyang. China’s bullet train network is now the most expansive in the world and you’ll be rocketing towards Luoyang at speeds up to 300km/h.

Longmen Grottoes & Luoyang Folk Culture

  4. Your next stop is the Xi’an City Wall, one of China’s most well-preserved ancient fortifications. Dating back to the Ming Dynasty, this imposing structure stands as a testament to Xi’an’s strategic importance throughout Chinese history.
  5. Before visiting the Grand Tang Everbright City, go to a workshop to change into the traditional Chinese clothing – Hanfu, put on ancient makeup, and start today’s journey of time travel back to ancient China 1000 years ago.

Great Wall of China & Olympic Venues
  1. Today’s excursion is one of the most anticipated of our trip – a visit to the Great Wall of China.
  2. We will be touring the Juyongguan section, one of the three most famous passes along the Great Wall. Located 60km from downtown Beijing, it used to be a stronghold that protected the northern access routes to the city.
  3. Here we’ll get a chance to climb a portion of this architectural marvel, which stretches an astonishing 6,400 km.
  4. En route back to the city we’ll visit one of the largest jade exhibitions in China and learn all about China’s most precious and celebrated stone.
  5. Upon returning to Beijing, we will stop at the Olympic Venues for taking photos. You may be amazed by the Bird’s Nest and Water Cube.

Day 11
Beijing – Imperial Heritage Tour
  1. Set out with your guide to discover the iconic imperial treasures of China’s massive capital, Beijing.
