    Home to Negombo, Sri Lanka
    1. Welcome to Sri Lanka!
    2. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to your 5-star hotel. Check in, relax, and unwind after your journey. Enjoy the evening at your leisure, exploring the local area or indulging in the hotel’s amenities.

    Day 2
    Negombo to Anuradhapura
    1. After breakfast proceed to Anuradhapura, an ancient capital of Sri Lanka, is famous for its well-preserved ruins of the Great Sri Lankan Civilization. This UNESCO World Heritage site lies 205km (127mi) north of Colombo, the current capital, in the North Central Province. Founded in the 4th century BC, it was the capital of the Anuradhapura Kingdom until the 11th century AD.
    2. Continue onto Mihintale, where Buddhism was first introduced in Sri Lanka. Mihintale is regarded as the cradle of Buddhism in Sri Lanka. The rock is filled with shrines and rock dwellings. A grand stairway of 1,840 steps made out of granite slabs, each 15 feet wide, which leads to the summit from where one could get a splendid view of the surrounding countryside.

    5. Tips & suggestions: dress modestly when visiting Anuradhapura’s religious sites, wearing long pants and covering your shoulders. Sleeveless, transparent clothing, and shorts are not allowed.
    Day 3
    Anuradhapura to Sigiriya
    1. After breakfast, check out at the hotel and transfer to Sigiriya.
    2. Alternatively, you may wish to join an optional tour of Minneriya National Park.
    3. Venture on an exclusively private jeep safari at the Minneriya National Park to witness the unique phenomenon of elephant gathering. During the dry season, from June to September, hundreds of elephants gather around the Minneriya Tank for water. Such a large number of elephants could not be sighted at one place, anywhere else in the world!

    Sigiriya to Sigiriya Rock Fortress to Polonnaruwa to Sigiriya
    1. After early breakfast, you will climb the Sigiriya Rock Fortress (Lion’s Rock), one of the most extraordinary artistic complexes of its time.
    2. This magnificent citadel, declared as a UNESCO heritage site in 1982, allures artistic and architectural curiosity from around the globe. Sigiriya is a rock fortress built in the 5th century A.D. This majestic citadel in the sky was the refuge of King Kasyapa and is world-renowned for its Mirror Wall’, which consists of poems and paragraphs carved by some of the thousands of visitors who visited the rock many years ago, and for its magnificent frescoes, like the Ajantha frescoes of India.
    3. En route to Polonnaruwa, experience the authentic flavors of Sri Lanka with a farmer’s lunch prepared by a local family, showcasing the island’s culinary traditions. Savor the taste of freshly prepared rice and curry dishes, carefully crafted using local ingredients.
    4. Continue to Polonnaruwa – the ancient kingdom is Sri Lanka’s second oldest kingdom and features a plethora of ruins and places of religious worship. Some of the many interesting places to visit in Polonnaruwa include the Gal Viharaya (Stone Temple), Lankathilake, Thivanka Image House, Nissanka Latha Mandapaya, the Audience Hall and the Vatadage.

    Day 5
    Sigiriya to Dambulla to Kandy
    1. Today we drive south to Kandy via Dambulla.
    2. Visit Dambulla Golden Cave Temple, designated as a world heritage site dating from the 1st century BC, Dambulla Cave Temple is located on a gigantic rock towering more than 160m above the surrounding area. The rock itself is more than 1.5km around its base and the summit is at 550m. The caves on this rock were the refuge of King Walagamba when he was in exile for 14 years and feature a mixture of religious and worldly paintings and sculptures. Several reclining Buddha statues include the 15-meter-long sculpture of the Buddha which is carved to the rock.
    3. On our way to Kandy, stop at a Spice Garden in Matale. You will learn the ingredients for cooking curry, distinguish species, experience massage and shopping for some product nature stay here.
    4. Continue onto Kandy, check into your hotel and spend the remainder of the day at your leisure.

    Kandy
    1. Today, you will explore Kandy on a fully-guided walking tour.
    2. Visit Central market, Old Bogambara Prison (entrance not included) and stroll around Kandy Lake.
    3. Also, visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic, a relic supposedly from Buddha, the founder of Buddhism. The sacred relic was brought to Sri Lanka in the 4th century A.D. it ever since been the symbol of sovereignty for its ruler and is always enshrined in great splendor.
    4. This evening, enjoy a typical Sri Lankan cultural performance.

    7. Tips & suggestions: during the visit of Temple of the Tooth Relic, please wear clothing covering knees and shoulders, as a sign of respect. You will also be required to leave your shoes at the shoe counter near to the entrance before entering the temple.
    Day 7
    Kandy to Nuwara Eliya
    1. After breakfast, you will leave for Nuwara Eliya.
    2. Along the way, you will visit Peradeniya Botanical Gardens once enjoyed by a Kandyan queen; this rose garden is enclosed next to a large bend in the Mahaweli River. Residence of Kandyan princes in the 1st Century. There are 4,000 different plant species here, considered one of the most advanced in Asia.
    3. This afternoon, visit a tea plantation and a factory. Here you will enjoy the absolute tea experience, taking you from the moment the young tea leaves are plucked from the plantation to being processed in the factory to make a steamy cup of tea. If you are interested, the tea factory is the best place to purchase good quality tea.
    4. Proceed to Nuwara Eliya, also known as ‘Little England’ and admire the amazing views here.

    7. Tips & suggestions: please note you will be driving to an altitude of 1900 meters and therefore the temperature in Nuwara Eliya will be 20-25c during the day, and 10-15c during the night. Warm clothing is recommended.
    Day 8
    Nuwara Eliya
    1. Spend today at your leisure in the picturesque town of Nuwara Eliya.
    2. For those adventure seekers, you may wish to join an optional hike to the incredibly scenic Horton’s Plains and World’s End.
    3. Depart at around 5:30am for Horton Plains National Park, renowned for its exceptional biodiversity and role as a crucial watershed for Sri Lanka’s major rivers. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2010, the park is celebrated for its breathtaking landmark, World’s End.
    4. Throughout the hike, you’ll have a dedicated guide escorting you from the Horton Plains Park Office to World’s End (via Mini World’s End) and back. Ensure you wear sturdy, comfortable footwear, along with a hat and sunglasses. Don’t forget sunscreen, snacks, and sufficient water, as weather conditions on the plains can swiftly fluctuate from sunny to chilly and misty. It’s wise to carry extra layers of warm clothing.

      • Distance: 7.5km round trip with a 150m elevation gain

    Nuwara Eliya yo Ella to Yala National Park
    1. After breakfast, embark on one of South Asia’s most famous train rides, The mystical train ride from Nanu Oya to Ella.
    2. he train journey from Nanu Oya to Ella in Sri Lanka is widely regarded as one of the most extraordinary and visually stunning experiences in the world. Spanning approximately 25 kilometers (15.5 miles), this scenic route traverses the captivating landscapes of Sri Lanka’s hill country. As the train ascends gradually into the mountains, passengers are treated to breathtaking panoramic vistas of verdant tea plantations, ethereal valleys veiled in mist, captivating waterfalls, and dense forests teeming with life.
    3. On arrival into Tissamaharama, you will be transferred to your accommodation on the edge of Yala National Park.

Galle was known as Gimhathiththa (although Ibn Batuta in the 14th century refers to it as Qali) before the arrival of the Portuguese in the 16th century, when it was the main port on the island. Galle reached the height of its development in the 18th century, before the arrival of the British, who developed the harbour at Colombo.

    2. Marvel at the impressive rock formations towering 160 metres above the surroundings, housing intricate religious and worldly paintings and sculptures. Witness the remarkable 15-metre-long reclining Buddha statue carved directly into the rock.

A UNESCO World Heritage site, built by King Kassyapa I, it served as a royal citadel for more than 18 years and showcases extraordinary artistry and architecture, including the famous mirror wall and stunning frescoes.
    2. After exploring Sigiriya, travel to Polonnaruwa, and feast on an authentic farmer’s lunch of curry and rice using local ingredients and prepared by a local family.
    3. Discover the ancient Polonnaruwa Kingdom, Sri Lanka’s second-oldest kingdom, featuring impressive ruins like the Gal Viharaya, Lankathilake, and the Vatadage.
    4. Please Note: Starting from the base, the climb up Sigiriya Rock involves over 1200 metal stairs or steep steps.     Sigiriya to Kandy
    1. Set off for Kandy (90 km / 2 hours) with a stop at a Spice Garden in Matale. Learn about the ingredients used in Sri Lankan cuisine, experience a spice massage, and shop for natural products.
    2. Continue to Kandy and explore the city on foot, visiting the Central Market and picturesque Kandy Lake. Witness the Temple of the Tooth, a significant Buddhist site. Built during the 17th century, the UNESCO World Heritage site houses the sacred tooth relic, which was brought to Sri Lanka in the 4th century A.D.
    3. This evening be entertained with a traditional Sri Lankan cultural dance performance accompanied by musicians.

    5. On arrival at the foot of Ba Na Mountain, we’ll travel by cable car up to the Marseille station. Then it’s a short walk to the Golden Bridge which appears to be lifted by two “hands of the Gods”. When you’re on the bridge, you’ll feel like you’re walking on the clouds.
    6. Time for taking photos of the breathtaking view. Afterwards, it’s on to a romantic flower garden – Le Jardin D’Amour. The 9 gardens are 9 stories in 9 unique architectural styles.
    7. Next, it’s time to visit Linh Ung Pagoda to admire its sophisticated architecture and the 27m high Shakyamuni statue.
    8. Finally, we’ll catch the cable car down the hill for the transfer back to Hoi An.
    Day 6
    Hoi An Walking Tour to Ho Chi Minh City
    1. After breakfast, you will explore Hoi An’s bustling local market and other attractions with unique architectures such as Old Merchants’ House, a local Chinese Temple and the Japanese Covered Bridge. Enjoy a stroll along the peaceful Thu Bon River, one of the world’s famous trading port in the past. It will be an ideal day for you to learn about the fascinating stories and history of these ancient architectures.
    2. Late afternoon, get transferred to the airport for flight to Saigon. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel for check-in.

    Ho Chi Minh City to Cu Chi Tunnels
    1. After breakfast, head to Cu Chi Tunnels, a byzantine maze of underground passages, chambers and booby traps used by both the Viet Minh and the Viet Cong during Vietnam-US war. The tunnel system had become legendary during the 1960s as a strategic military base and underground community life.
    2. In the afternoon, you will visit the bustling city of Saigon such as: Notre Dame Cathedral, Post Office, War Remnant Museum and dive into the colorful Ben Thanh Market, one of Ho Chi Minh’s liveliest areas.
    3. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch.

    Jayavarman Cruise: Ho Chi Minh City to My Tho {Cruise} Tan Phong Island
    1. After breakfast, you will be we welcomed in the morning at the Cruise’s lounge. Relax with a second coffee while our staff collects your details. We bid farewell to the hustle and bustle of Saigon and travel 70 kilometres south overland towards My Tho to embark on our vessel. After checking into your luxurious floating “home,” the sailing on this major Asian waterway begins.
    2. A lunch buffet is served in the restaurant as the vessel steadily glides upstream. As twilight bathes the Mekong Delta in a golden haze, take the opportunity to get to know your fellow travellers and join in our official welcome with canapés and prosecco.
    3. During dinner, the ship will likely reach Tan Phong Island area near Cai Be, where we anchor midstream. This is your first glimpse of the bustling area where we will begin our Mekong adventure on land tomorrow.     2. Once on shore, we see Tan Chau’s vibrant town-life as we hop on “xelois”, which are local vehicles still used as a taxi in this area. Your personal xeloi driver slowly navigates through the streets to observe all the workshops, houses and shops while feeling the laid-back vibe of this place.     1. This morning, you will take a Phnom Penh city tour to The Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda, National Museum, Wat Ounalom and Central Market. Then discover the place where journalists camped on the eve of the Khmer Rouge takeover, followed by a visit to the ghostly building. Later on, continue to Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, a former high school which was used as the notorious Security Prison 21 (S-21) by the Khmer Rouge regime before heading to Choeung Ek Killing Field to learn about the atrocities that took place here. To end your journey today, you will have a chance to taste some Khmer snacks while learning about the sombre Cambodian history.

    Chiang Mai City Tour
    1. After breakfast, visit Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, one of northern Thailand’s most sacred temples located at the top of a mountain. To reach the temple, you’ll have to climb up a 309-step staircase (or simply use cable car – included).
    2. Later on, there’s some fun shopping at San Kamphaeng Road, a 10km-long road selling local goods such as pottery, silverware, lacquer ware, handmade paper, sculptures, jewellery, wood carvings and silk products. You can also watch the artisans at work.
    3. After lunch at a local restaurant, return to your hotel where the remainder of the day is at leisure.
